Work on repurposing Terminal 2 at Kotoka International Airport is progressing steadily.
The project aims to facilitate both domestic and international operations at Terminal 2, easing pressure on Terminal 3 and maximizing unused spaces within the terminal as part of GACL’s vision to establish Ghana as the preferred aviation hub in West Africa.
The Managing Director, Mrs. Yvonne Nana Afriyie Opare, has initiated plans for continuous engagements with stakeholders throughout the process.

This will ensure airlines are prepared to operate from the newly repurposed terminal once it is completed.
On Wednesday, March 19, 2025, Ghana Airports Company Limited (GACL) conducted a walkthrough with airline representatives to showcase the project’s progress.
The airlines expressed satisfaction with the work done so far and provided positive feedback to support effective operational readiness, activation, and transition (ORAT) upon project completion.

The repurposed Terminal 2 is expected to help manage increasing passenger traffic and alleviate congestion at Terminal 3 during peak hours, fully utilising T2 as Ghana prepares to welcome additional airlines to Kotoka International Airport in the coming months.

Upon completion, the project will mark a significant milestone in our ongoing commitment to enhancing the passenger experience at our airports.
