Fifty female entrepreneurs have successfully completed the sixth edition of the Access Bank Womenpreneur Pitch-A-Thon, receiving financial support and business development assistance to scale their enterprises.

The initiative, designed to empower women in business, provided beneficiaries with various forms of support, including financial grants, website development, business protection cover, and digital marketing assistance.

Three outstanding participants were awarded GH¢100,000 each to expand their businesses.

The top awardees were Khadija Osman of Osikalim Food Processing, Geneviva Baidoo of Vieva Bee Enterprise, and Emmanuella Tordman Khadija of Dr Do God Limited.

Additionally, Wilhelmina Ametepeh received the Access Bank MD’s Special Prize of GH¢20,000, dedicated to entrepreneurs with disabilities.

Executive Director of Retail and Digital Banking at Access Bank Ghana, Pearl Nkrumah, speaking at the event, said the initiative started in Ghana over 10 years ago following its launch at the Bank’s headquarters in Nigeria.

Since its inception, Access Bank Ghana has invested over 1 million in cash prizes among other benefits to support women-led businesses.

The Group Head for Retail Banking at Access Bank Ghana, Matilda Asante-Asiedu, reaffirmed the bank’s commitment to promoting women-led businesses, emphasizing the significant role female entrepreneurs play in the country’s economic growth.

“As a bank dedicated to supporting women in business, this Pitch-A-Thon provides an avenue for female entrepreneurs to present their ideas, gain essential business training, and receive funding. This initiative has been impactful in job creation and livelihood enhancement, and we remain committed to its expansion,” she said.

She also acknowledged the contributions of key partners, including Coronation Insurance Ghana and Development Bank Ghana, for their support in equipping finalists with essential business resources.

One of the winners, Geneviva Baidoo, expressed profound gratitude for the funding, which she believes will help rebuild her business after a fire incident last year.

“This funding will allow me to invest in machinery, raw materials, and expand my team. I also remain committed to my annual donation to orphanages, and this grant will ensure I can continue giving back to the community,” she shared.

The Womenpreneur Pitch-A-Thon, powered and championed by Access W, continues to be a transformative platform for female entrepreneurs, equipping them with the skills, resources, and capital needed to thrive in Ghana’s business landscape.
