A naming ceremony at Gbawe Zero in the Greater Accra Region turned tragic on Friday, June 20, following a shooting incident that left one person dead and another critically injured.

According to reports, two individuals were shot during what is believed to be a violent clash between two rival Asafoatse (traditional warriors or leaders).

The injured victim is currently receiving treatment at the Legon Hospital.

Eyewitnesses say the event, which was intended to be a joyful celebration, descended into chaos when a disagreement escalated into gunfire.

The matter is currently being investigated by the Gbawe Police, who have taken over the case.

Police are yet to release an official statement on the identities of those involved or the motive behind the altercation.
