Polls have closed, with counting and sorting currently underway across the 19 polling stations in the Ablekuma North constituency.
Pockets of violence were recorded at some centers, with reports of journalists, a former minister of state, and a party official being assaulted.
More than 6,000 registered voters were expected to cast their ballots, but the election witnessed a low voter turnout.
The constituency has remained without representation in the 9th Parliament since the December 7, 2024, general elections, following disputes and irregularities in results from select polling stations.
Both the National Democratic Congress (NDC) and the New Patriotic Party (NPP) contested aspects of the original outcome, each claiming victory and citing concerns over missing or unverifiable pink sheets from parts of the constituency.
