GEPA hails ‘This is Ghana’ Exhibition as key platform for promoting local brands

The Ghana Export Promotion Authority (GEPA), a sponsor of the upcoming 2025 This is Ghana Exhibition, has emphasized the event’s role as a vital platform for discovering, promoting, and supporting Ghana-made products and brands.

The exhibition will take place at the Efua Sutherland Park in Accra from Saturday, September 6, to Sunday, September 7, 2025, starting at 10 a.m. each day.

Speaking on the Citi Breakfast Show on Wednesday, August 27, 2025, Alexander K. Dadzawa, GEPA’s Director of Projects, described the exhibition as a strategic opportunity to connect with businesses and identify new products with export potential.

“Our mandate is to develop and promote export-made in Ghana products and brands. We see This is Ghana Exhibition as a platform and an opportunity because of the reach Channel One TV and Citi FM have in the space,” Dadzawa noted.

“At GEPA, we cannot pretend that we know all the Ghanaian products out there. So, we use this opportunity to discover more products that will be exhibited at the fair.”

He explained that GEPA would showcase some of its existing clients while scouting for new brands.

“There, we will do assessments, and if they meet the quality standards, we will immediately take them on board. Otherwise, we will provide advisory services that will ensure they meet the standards,” he added.

Nelly Spio-Abaidoo, GEPA’s Head of Industrial Arts and Crafts, stressed the Authority’s role in supporting businesses to transition into global markets.

“Part of our mandate is to develop products and brands to transition from the local market to the international space. So, even if you are an exhibitor or a participant, use the opportunity to speak with GEPA, get advice or information on your product… We will be available to provide these services on the spot,” she said.

One of GEPA’s clients, TEKURA Enterprises Limited, will also participate in the exhibition. Managing Director Audery Forson said the event offers her company a chance to reconnect with the public after a major setback.

“In December 2023, a fire gutted our workshop. We spent the year reflecting, planning, and rebuilding. Now, we are ready to re-engage with the public again. In October, we will reopen, which also marks our anniversary,” Forson revealed.

She emphasized that TEKURA Enterprises Limited is coming back stronger.

“Expect the same quality, good pricing, and reliability. The source of your furniture will remain sustainable, and you get to support a Ghanaian business,” she added.

The 2025 This is Ghana Exhibition is expected to bring together a wide range of businesses, traders, and innovators, showcasing authentic Ghanaian products and brands to both local and international audiences.

The THIS IS GHANA EXHIBITION 2025 is powered by Channel One TV and Citi FM.
