The U.S. Embassy in Accra will temporarily suspend most routine consular services from July 20 to July 31, 2026, to allow for scheduled facility maintenance.
The services are expected to resume on August 3, 2026, according to a notice from the Embassy.
During the maintenance period, walk-in services for notarial services and Consular Reports of Death Abroad (CRODA) will not be available.
The Embassy said applicants who have already received email notifications that their pending passports or Consular Reports of Birth Abroad (CRBA) documents are ready for collection may still visit the Embassy for pickup on Thursdays between 1:30 p.m. and 3:00 p.m.
It added that adult passport renewals submitted through the Embassy’s drop box will continue to be processed during the period.
The Embassy advised applicants seeking passport renewal services to follow the instructions available on its official website.
