The Minister for Works, Housing and Natural Resources, Kenneth Gilbert Adjei, has strongly expressed his disappointment over the extreme delay in the construction of the Kaneshie Lot 1 drainage system.

The project, awarded to Hydronomics Limited and Vuluxx Company Limited, was scheduled to be completed in 12 months, but after 10 months, construction has only reached 11%.

This was revealed during a working visit by the sector minister and his team to assess the progress of drainage system projects in Accra.
Speaking during a stop at the Lot 1 project on Tuesday, November 18, Kenneth Gilbert Adjei urged the contractor, who attributed the delay to recent rains, to expedite the project according to the timelines or risk losing the contract.

“If you don’t get there, then we will all come here again, and we will just let the world know that this is what you said, but you didn’t deliver. We will terminate the contract and let everybody know that Hydronomics Limited couldn’t deliver.

“If you don’t deliver here, you should know that other people will be watching, and it is going to affect your company,” he stated.
