The Kasoa Ofaakor Circuit Court has sentenced four QNET operatives to a total of 32 months’ imprisonment with hard labour following their arrest by the Police Intelligence Department (PID) of the Central East Regional Police Command.
According to court proceedings monitored by Citi News, the PID on January 3, 2026 received a complaint from a Kasoa resident, Peter Sey, that his 19-year-old sister, Priscilla Ninson, had been lured by some individuals and taken to an unknown location on December 28, 2025.
He further alleged that the suspects took GH¢15,700 from her under the pretext of securing her a travel and work visa to Germany.
Upon receiving the complaint, a team from the Police Intelligence Department, led by Detective Chief Inspector Kennedy Ndego, mounted surveillance and activated investigations. Through intelligence-led operations, the team traced the suspects and victims to Millennium City.
The police later discovered and rescued nine other victims at the premises being used by the QNET operatives.
The suspects—Elizabeth Agyekumwaa, Ntim Kwesi Prince, Kyei Emmanuel and Issah Safianu—were subsequently arrested. The rescued victims recounted how they were deceived by the suspects and induced to fall for their schemes.
The suspects were arraigned before the Kasoa Ofaakor Circuit Court on January 6, 2026. The court, presided over by Her Honour Asantewaa Atakora, remanded them into police custody to reappear the following day.
At their reappearance on January 7, all four suspects pleaded guilty. The court subsequently convicted them and sentenced each to eight months’ imprisonment with hard labour, bringing the total sentence to 32 months.
