Mary Addah, Executive Director of Transparency International Ghana, has commended the Mahama administration for its accountability and transparency during its first year in office.
She made the remarks during a roundtable discussion on John Mahama 2.0: Thematic Assessment of Year One on Channel One TV, hosted by Bernard Avle, on Tuesday, January 13, 2026.
Mary Addah added that, based on key governance benchmarks, the government has performed admirably.
“For us, it is our explicit opinion that this government, when you look at the subject matter of good governance, benchmarking them on the key indicators, we’re talking about accountability, transparency and all other indicators, including inclusiveness, by the government’s Reset Agenda and its manifesto, we cannot fault them at all for the work they have done.
“I think we mentioned the same during the 120-day analysis that the government has done its best at the time we were ticking the boxes,” she noted.
She underscored the positive evaluation of the Mahama administration’s performance in governance, transparency, and inclusivity during its first year.
“I believe without a doubt at all that this current government is one that we cannot say is not good. It’s just a first year, for instance, so you cannot say that the government is not doing well when you see a lot of good.
“Economic indicators are doing very well, and the educational sector, the environment and other sectors are doing so nicely,” she remarked.
