Four people, including two children, have died after a heavy-duty truck rammed into a salon at Kumawu in the Ashanti Region.

The incident occurred on Saturday, January 17, when a truck loaded with sand from a road construction site lost control and ran into the container shop housing the salon.

The owner of the salon, her two children, and one customer died after the truck crashed into the structure.

Four others, including the truck driver, sustained injuries.

One of the critically injured victims was referred to the Komfo Anokye Teaching Hospital, while the others are receiving treatment at the Kumawu Government Hospital.

This is the second time a truck belonging to the construction company working on the Kumawu roads has crashed into a structure. In a previous incident, a truck ran into a mosque, though no casualties were recorded.

The latest incident has sparked widespread public concern in the Kumawu community, with residents demanding urgent action to prevent a recurrence.
