The Word of Truth and Prayer (TWOTAP) Mission has launched a social intervention programme aimed at supporting underprivileged Christians and non-Christians, with a special focus on widows and orphans.

The initiative, dubbed “Care for Widows and Orphans,” commenced in 2025 and has so far provided assistance to 2,000 individuals in urgent need of livelihood support, with a total disbursement of GH₵ 800,000.

Under the programme, each beneficiary receives GH₵400 monthly to support daily sustenance until they become self-sufficient.

The General Overseer of TWOTAP, Evangelist Francis Awusi, who spoke to Citi News after the launch that the initiative was inspired by a divine revelation to urgently assist the less fortunate in society through his ministry.

He said it was in response to this spiritual direction that he and the leadership of the mission resolved to embark on the charitable project.

Evangelist Awusi noted that beyond spiritual upliftment, the programme is designed to improve the overall well-being of beneficiaries.

He addressed perceptions that some religious leaders exploit their congregants financially, stressing that such practices do not reflect his ministry’s values.

He explained that beneficiaries would undergo thorough assessment by an independent body to verify genuine need before being enrolled onto the programme.

He encouraged beneficiaries not to become complacent because of the monthly support, but to actively seek employment and sustainable income opportunities.

Evangelist Awusi appealed to individuals and corporate organisations to contribute to sustaining the initiative but stressed that the centre would not accept donations from persons involved in fraudulent activities or money rituals.

He also cautioned the public to be wary of individuals on social media using his name to solicit funds, stating that he does not engage in or endorse such activities.
