Despite a heavy downpour earlier in the morning, thousands of patrons have defied the showers and thronged the Efua Sutherland Children’s Park on Sunday, March 29, as the 2026 ‘Back to Your Village’ Food Festival powered into an electrifying Day Two.
What could have dampened the mood instead set the stage for an even more determined turnout, as crowds streamed into the grounds—drawn by the promise of a rich blend of tradition, music, and storytelling.

The two-day event, which climaxes on Sunday, built on the momentum of a lively opening day that recorded massive patronage and a festive atmosphere. By midday, the park had come alive once again, buzzing with energy as patrons brushed off the rain and embraced the experience.
Long queues have quickly formed at food stands serving freshly prepared indigenous meals, while others gathered around live cooking demonstrations—fully immersed in a setting where nostalgia met cultural pride.

Food lovers are indulging in a wide array of Ghanaian cuisine, including banku with okro stew, fufu with light soup, aprapransa with crabs, tuo zaafi, and angwamo served with eggs, pepper, beef, or sardines.
Powered by Channel One TV with support from Citi FM, the festival was sponsored by Ecobank, Gino, Didi Shito, Munchee Biscuits, Jibu Ghana, Twellium Industries, the National Petroleum Authority, and Everpack.
