Central Regional Council of State member, Hakeem Addae, has assured Ghanaians that President John Dramani Mahama will assent to the Human Sexual Rights and Family Values Bill, popularly called anti-LGBTQ+ bill once it is duly passed by Parliament.
He urged the public to remain calm and allow the bill to go through the required legislative processes.
Mr Addae gave the assurance during visits to churches in the Twifo Atti-Morkwa District as part of Easter activities, where he also called for peace, tolerance and unity during the festive period.
In a related development, the District Chief Executive for Twifo Atti-Morkwa, Isaac Yawson, highlighted key projects undertaken over the past year, including the construction of classroom blocks, health facilities and boreholes.
Mr Yawson urged residents to remain hopeful, noting that ongoing projects in road infrastructure, access to potable water and education are aimed at accelerating socio-economic development in the district.
