Hajia Samira Sulley, an aspirant for the Bono Regional Women’s Organiser position of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), has paid tribute to mothers and women across the region, commending their role in building strong families and cohesive communities.

In a Mother’s Day message copied to the Ghana News Agency in Sunyani, she described mothers as the foundation of society whose sacrifices continue to shape the future of families, communities and the nation.

“You are the first teachers, the quiet warriors, the heartbeat of our homes, and the steady force that holds our communities together,” she stated.

Hajia Sulley praised women from all walks of life in the Bono Region, acknowledging their resilience and contributions to national development.

“From the market women of Sunyani to the farmers of Wenchi, from the teachers in Dormaa to the young mothers in every village across our region, your sacrifice is seen, your love is felt, and your contribution to our nation is immeasurable,” she said.

She also expressed appreciation to mothers within the NPP for nurturing the next generation of leaders, noting that the strength of the party and the region is rooted in the values instilled in homes.

According to her, empowering women and mothers must remain central to development efforts.

“As someone who hopes to serve as your Regional Women’s Organiser, I know that empowering mothers means empowering Ghana,” she stated.

Hajia Sulley said this includes advocating for improved access to healthcare, supporting women in trade and agriculture, creating safer spaces for girls, and ensuring that every mother has the opportunity to live a dignified life.

“These aren’t just party promises — they are personal to me because I see them in your daily struggles and your daily triumphs,” she added.

She urged society to celebrate and appreciate mothers beyond Mother’s Day, stressing that their efforts often go unnoticed despite their profound impact.

“Today is for you to be celebrated and reminded that your work matters. You are not invisible. Your prayers, your sleepless nights, and your resilience are shaping the future of Bono Region and Ghana,” she said.

Hajia Sulley concluded by praying for good health, peace of mind and joy for all mothers, assuring them that women and mothers would remain at the heart of her vision as she seeks the regional women organiser role.
