The District Chief Executive for Amansie Central, Emmanuel Obeng Agyemang, has commissioned a fully furnished Community-based Health Planning and Services (CHPS) compound at Fahiakobo.

The project, which began on November 17, 2025, includes a nurses’ quarters and a mechanized borehole. It forms part of efforts to bring quality healthcare closer to residents in the district.

Speaking at the ceremony on Monday, May 26, the DCE said the commissioning underscores the Assembly’s dedication to improving maternal and child health, preventive care, and emergency response at the local level.

He commended the District Health Directorate for posting dedicated and competent staff to the facility ahead of the commissioning.

The DCE urged health officials to mobilize the community, educate residents on available services, help monitor the facility, and report issues early for prompt attention. He noted that the Community Health Management Committee has played a critical role in community service.

To residents of Fahiakobo, he encouraged early care-seeking, and cautioned against self-medication and patronage of unqualified health practitioners.

Mr. Obeng Agyemang thanked President John Dramani Mahama for making the vision possible. He also acknowledged the Minister for Local Government, Chieftaincy and Religious Affairs, Hon. Ahmed Ibrahim, for policy direction, and the Ashanti Regional Minister, Dr. Frank Amoakohene, for his coordination and support.
