The Entrepreneurship Committee of the Old Achimotan Association 2002 Year Group has announced Selasi von Hausen Enterprise as the second recipient of the OAA 2002 Business Grant Programme.
This quarter’s grant was made possible through the support of Oratech Foundation, an organisation owned by a member of the Year Group, reflecting the growing culture of alumni members investing in the growth and success of one another.
The GH¢10,000 grant was officially presented on Thursday, April 30, 2026, to Akora Roselyn Dzanta in recognition of the company’s strong growth strategy, operational vision and commitment to scaling its business.
The grant was presented by Entrepreneurship Committee Chair, Nana Aba Odartey-Laryea.
Established to help bridge funding gaps that often limit the growth of small and medium-sized businesses, the OAA 2002 Business Grant Programme provides more than financial assistance.
The initiative also offers recipients access to professional mentorship, experienced business advisors and business development resources aimed at strengthening operations and promoting long-term sustainability.
To qualify for consideration, applicants must own at least 51% of a Ghana-registered business, demonstrate financial need with a clear capital utilisation plan and commit to participating in the programme’s mentorship component.
The Entrepreneurship Committee noted that the programme forms part of a broader commitment by the Year Group to foster entrepreneurship, encourage innovation and create sustainable economic opportunities among members.
The latest grant award comes at a significant moment for the OAA 2002 Year Group as members mark 25 years since leaving the “Grey City” and prepare towards the centennial celebrations of Achimota School in 2027.
The committee noted that initiatives such as the Business Grant Programme reflect the Year Group’s long-term vision of building impact through both economic empowerment and educational legacy projects.
The sponsorship by Oratech Foundation also highlights the spirit of alumni-led philanthropy within the Akora community, where members continue to invest in one another’s growth and development.
This philosophy also underpins the OAA 2002 Year Group’s Silver Jubilee Legacy Project — a $1 million fundraising campaign aimed at constructing a 250-bed girls’ dormitory and establishing a permanent mentoring initiative at Achimota School.
As the school prepares for “Achimota at 100” in 2027, the OAA 2002 Year Group says it remains committed to building a legacy that supports both the economic advancement of its members and the educational development of future generations of Akoras.
The committee encouraged more entrepreneurs within the Year Group to apply for future grant cycles, emphasising that the strength of the collective contributes to the success of the individual.
