Ghanaian traditional priest Nana Kwaku Bonsam says he has lifted the alleged curse he placed on England striker Harry Kane ahead of Ghana’s World Cup clash with England.

Kwaku Bonsam, who attracted international attention after claiming responsibility for Kane’s failure to score in the goalless draw against Ghana, said he never harboured any ill feelings towards the England captain.

Speaking in an interview with Piers Morgan and Simon Jordan on World Cup Uncensored on Friday June 26, he described Kane as someone he admires and respects, insisting that his actions before the match were motivated by patriotism rather than personal dislike.

“Harry Kane is not my enemy. He is my brother and I love him so much,” he said.

According to him, his affection for the striker is so strong that a child recently born into his family has been named Harry Kane Bonsam.

Kwaku Bonsam explained that his intention was simply to ensure that Ghana achieved a positive result in the match. He claimed that whatever spiritual intervention he undertook was only meant to prevent Kane from scoring against the Black Stars.

“Because Ghana is my country, I wanted my country to be happy. That was why I did what I did before the game,” he stated.

The traditional priest said the situation has now changed and that he has released Kane from any restrictions he previously claimed to have placed on him.

“I have lifted everything and prayed for him. We are now friends together,” he said.

He added that he wishes the England forward success in future matches and believes football fans around the world will now see Kane perform at his best.

Kwaku Bonsam expressed confidence that the striker will deliver strong performances in upcoming games, stressing that his actions were limited to Ghana’s encounter with England.
