The New Patriotic Party (NPP) has announced Saturday, September 19, 2026, as the date for its National Delegates Conference, where delegates will elect new national officers of the party.

In a statement issued on Wednesday, July 8, the party said the date was approved by the National Council after it was proposed by the National Executive Committee (NEC) during meetings held on Thursday, June 25, 2026.

The conference will be held in line with Article 10(1) of the NPP Constitution, which mandates the election of national officers by delegates.

“The New Patriotic Party (NPP) has fixed Saturday, September 19, 2026, as the date for its National Delegates Conference, at which delegates will, among other matters, elect National Officers of the Party pursuant to Article 10(1) of the Party Constitution,” the statement said.

Ahead of the conference, the party has opened a process for members and other stakeholders to submit proposals for amendments to its constitution.

The proposals, according to the NPP, must be submitted to the Office of the General Secretary at the party’s national headquarters or sent electronically via [email protected] by Friday, July 17, 2026.

The party said the invitation for amendments is being made in accordance with Article 19(2) of its Constitution.

The NPP encouraged members and stakeholders to actively participate in the review process, describing it as an opportunity to strengthen the party’s structures, enhance internal democratic practices, and improve governance.

The party reiterated its commitment to constitutionalism, internal democracy, and the rule of law as it prepares for the upcoming National Delegates Conference.
