At Datamaker, our work goes beyond building datasets and supporting AI development. Behind every project is a person with aspirations, challenges, and a unique story of growth.
Over the years, we have welcomed individuals from diverse backgrounds, students seeking stability, entrepreneurs looking for new skills, parents rebuilding confidence, and young people searching for direction. Through training, meaningful work, and continuous learning opportunities, many have discovered abilities they never knew they had.
As we experience another year of growth, we take a moment to spotlight some of these journeys. These stories are not only about careers; they are about resilience, learning, self-discovery, and the opportunities that emerge when potential meets the right environment.
Here are some of the people whose lives have been shaped by their experiences at Datamaker.
Growing Through Opportunity: Priscilla’s Journey from Trainee to Trainer
Hello, I am Priscilla Awuku. Before working at Datamaker, I worked at P/J Chemicals as a shop assistant, which helped me learn a lot.
One morning, my brother went to Accra Mall and saw some of the staff members at Datamaker advertising a free IT training program, which caught his attention, and he took their contact details. He came home and told me about the program, and I registered for it in October. Fortunately, I passed the program.
Fast forward to 2022, I was employed by Datamaker as a Data Annotator. As a Data Annotator, I gained experience in image processing and became familiar with other tools such as audio and text transcription. I got to know all these tools at Datamaker.
After six months in the role, I was promoted to Training Facilitator Assistant, where I assisted in training individuals eager to learn about what Datamaker offers and shared what I had learned as a trainee.
In December 2022, I received my second promotion and became a Project Manager. This role allowed me to work with colleagues from different backgrounds and perspectives, as well as colleagues overseas, sharing ideas and working together as a team.
Later, in 2025, I was given the role of Training Facilitator, where I trained individuals for the company. To some people, this may sound like just another promotion, but to me, it is a great achievement.
Datamaker has impacted my life as an individual who knew nothing about AI or the corporate world. The company is always introducing new learning materials and encouraging its staff to better themselves, and I am grateful for this opportunity.
God bless Datamaker Ghana Limited.
Finding Direction: Fred’s Journey from Comfort to Purpose

Nothing really pushed me out of my comfort zone at first. Every day felt like a holiday. I was always out with my friends, most of whom were in the entertainment space, so life was all about vibes, fun, and enjoyment, just as Gen Zs would say.
I had completed SHS, but I was still deciding what to study at the university. Looking at the employment situation in the country, I didn’t want to rush into a field I wasn’t sure about. So, day after day, I spent most of my time hanging out, partying, and occasionally taking short online courses just to keep myself occupied.
Deep down, however, I had a strong desire for something more. I wanted to experience what it felt like to work, not just any job, but one that would teach me a skill I could apply in everyday life, not only in the workplace. So, I spoke to my friend Jeffery, who had previously worked at Datamaker.
He explained how the work was done, and what really caught my attention was the training and the opportunity to gain valuable skills, along with a certificate.
I didn’t jump in immediately. I asked around, friends and even my cousins abroad, about data labeling and the opportunities available in the field. The feedback I received was encouraging. Then another friend, Andy, sent me a recruitment link, and I took the opportunity right away.
Everything was going smoothly until the very day I was supposed to submit my system information to begin training from home. I suddenly passed out, and the next thing I knew, I was in the hospital. The doctors explained that it was due to a lack of sleep and poor eating habits.
At that point, everything came to a halt.
Thankfully, with the help of my friend, the process continued. A few weeks later, I received an email inviting me to join the training, and I gladly took part. The training was both insightful and practical.
Around the same time, I also completed a forklift training program. Interestingly, the very day I received my certification was the same day I was called to join the Datamaker workforce. Since then, my journey has been different. Working at Datamaker has opened my mind to technology and helped me understand how AI is shaping the world.
The environment is welcoming, and the flexibility of the job allows me to balance my education and work without excessive stress. One of the greatest benefits has been the independence it has given me. Although I receive support from home, I have always wanted to be self-reliant. Now, I can support myself while building valuable skills and earning an income.
Looking back, I can confidently say that I didn’t just find a job; I found direction. My journey at Datamaker has been a rewarding one so far, and I will always encourage others to embrace opportunities when they come. Sometimes, stepping out of your comfort zone is what helps you become more.

Learning Beyond Limits: Matthias’ Story of Growth Through Technology
Before joining Datamaker, I studied System Engineering at IPMC. Later, I took a short MCA course and completed my internship at one of the pharmacies in Accra. I also started my own online business, where I marketed and sold perfume and sweaters; however, the business was not doing very well, and I was making losses on my investment.
One day, a friend told me that Datamaker was training people. I decided to join the training program, and after successfully completing it, I was selected and offered a contract with the company as a data labeler.
Joining Datamaker exposed me to new areas of technology that I had not explored before. One of the most exciting things I learned was vibe coding and the use of AI tools. Through this experience, I was able to create a website for my perfume and sweater business, which increased my confidence in technology and digital innovation. Before joining Datamaker, I had limited Knowledge of AI tools.
At the company, I worked on various data-related tasks and collaborated with team members on different projects. My work included reviewing information, ensuring data accuracy, and using AI tools to complete tasks efficiently. This experience taught me the importance of attention to detail, accuracy, and meeting deadlines.
Working at the company also helped me become financially responsible.
The income I earned enables me to save and invest in treasury bills. This taught me the value of financial planning and saving for the future. In addition, the company helped develop good time management skills. Since I finish work early, I can dedicate time to my personal project and continue growing my business.
Also, like any job, there were challenges; some tasks were complex and required patience and careful analysis. However, these challenges taught me how to adapt quickly, ask questions where necessary, and continue learning.
I learned that persistence and a positive attitude are important for success in any workplace.
One of the most valuable parts of my experience at Datamaker personally was the vibe-coding training session. During the training, we were taught how to use AI, assisted coding tools, or prompts to build websites and other digital projects. I’m using this training to generate other income outside my job.
The Power of Persistence: Paul’s Journey from Doubt to Confidence
On 23rd May 2023, I began a new chapter of my life when I joined Datamaker Ghana as a Data Annotator. At the time, I was simply looking for an opportunity to learn, grow, and challenge myself. Looking back today, I can confidently say that the journey has been one of the most rewarding experiences of my professional life.
Like anyone starting a new role, I was both excited and nervous. Everything was new, and I quickly realized that data annotation requires a high level of accuracy, attention to detail, and a clear understanding of complex guidelines.
One of my biggest challenges was communication and fully grasping some of the project instructions. There were times when I had to read the guidelines repeatedly to ensure I understood what was expected of me.
Beyond the technical skills I gained, Datamaker Ghana also helped me develop a level of discipline that has positively impacted my daily life. One habit that stands out is learning to wake up early and be ready on time each day.
For many people, consistently rising early is not easy, but the company’s culture of punctuality and responsibility encouraged me to become more disciplined. Over time, waking up early became a habit rather than an obligation.
Today, that discipline continues to influence both my work and personal life, helping me manage my time better and approach each day with purpose.
I will not pretend it was easy. There were moments of frustration and self-doubt. Sometimes I wondered if I would ever become as confident and skilled as some of my colleagues.
However, I decided not to give up. With the support of project managers and colleagues, I kept learning and pushing myself to improve every day. Slowly but surely, things began to change. The guidelines that once seemed difficult started making sense.
The challenges that once felt intimidating became opportunities to learn. With time, patience, and consistency, I became more confident in my abilities and more effective in my work.
One achievement I am particularly proud of is developing the ability to clearly communicate and explain complex guidelines to others. It is interesting to think that something which was once my biggest challenge eventually became one of my greatest strengths.
My time at Datamaker Ghana has taught me valuable lessons about perseverance, growth, and the importance of continuous learning. It has shown me that success does not happen overnight. It comes from showing up every day, staying committed, and being willing to learn from both successes and setbacks.
As I continue my journey, I remain grateful for the opportunities, experiences, and people who have contributed to my growth. What started as a job became a platform for personal and professional development, and for that, I will always be thankful.
Finding Strength Through Opportunity: Victoria’s Journey of Growth and Resilience
My name is Victoria, and I am in my early 20s. I grew up in a family of four, and growing up, I learned that teamwork makes the dream work. I come from a very supportive family that always roots for and supports you no matter what. Losing a parent took a big toll on my family and me specifically. I had to deal with a lot of trauma and anxiety.
But after some time, a friend introduced me to Datamaker. In this company, I would get the chance to be a part of something bigger than me, something exciting, something life-changing, and contribute to the training of AI models.
My time at Datamaker has greatly impacted my life in so many ways. Firstly, being part of a team working together toward one goal. Datamaker has helped me build consistency and time-consciousness. I work efficiently as part of a team and build long-lasting friendships both inside the office and far beyond it.
Datamaker didn’t just help me step out of my shell; it shattered the limits I had placed on myself and revealed my true potential- what I could actually do.
I learned to face challenges head-on and completely reframe my outlook on life, finally allowing myself to embrace and enjoy the beautiful things the world has to offer. I have found a profound sense of inner peace, healing from past anxieties, and replacing them with a quiet, unshakeable confidence in who I am.
This journey has inspired me to invest deeply in my own personal development and be more intentional about how I present myself to the world.
Exposed to this kind of environment, I am always eager to try new things. I am now fully in tune with my passions and dreams, whether that means creating meaningful moments hanging out with friends or actively engaging in probing conversations that keep my mind sharp and active.
Datamaker has helped me further my education at the university, and I am studying Logistics and Transport Management. Balancing work and studies isn’t always easy, but the discipline, strict time management, and focus I developed on the job gave me exactly what I needed to succeed in the classroom.
I sometimes wake up and ask myself if it’s all worth it. A small voice in my head tells me that I have come so far and I can’t possibly quit. Who would believe me that I gave my absolute best? I need to win no matter what. People only look at the results because they tell a better story. I will never give up.
I will let my success speak for the battles I fought in secret. I am going to finish my degree and use my knowledge in logistics and technology to build a good life and a great career. I have a goal, and I will make sure I reach it.
I want to say a big thank you to Datamaker for the opportunity and the great impact the company has had on my life. I will forever be grateful to Datamaker.
The stories in this collection are different, yet they share a common thread. Each person arrived with unique experiences, aspirations, and challenges. Through learning, perseverance, and opportunity, they discovered new capabilities and opened doors to possibilities they had not imagined before.
As Datamaker continues to grow, we remain committed to creating an environment where people can develop their skills, build meaningful careers, and contribute to shaping the future of technology.
These journeys remind us that behind every dataset, every project, and every innovation is a human story worth celebrating.
