The Minister for Energy and Green Transition, Dr. John Abdulai Jinapor, has reaffirmed the government’s commitment to strengthening collaboration with the Association of Ghana Industries (AGI) to drive energy sector reforms and support the growth of Ghana’s industrial sector.
The assurance came during a meeting with an AGI delegation led by its Chief Executive Officer, Seth Twum-Akwaboah, as both parties explored opportunities to deepen cooperation between government and the private sector.
Sharing details of the engagement in a Facebook post on Wednesday, July 8, Dr. Jinapor said the discussions focused on issues affecting industry and practical measures to improve the business operating environment through stronger collaboration.
According to the Minister, the meeting provided a platform to exchange ideas on the challenges confronting businesses and identify areas where government and industry can work together to promote sustainable economic growth.
He expressed appreciation to Mr. Twum-Akwaboah and the AGI delegation for their constructive engagement and valuable contributions, describing the private sector as a critical partner in shaping policies that enhance Ghana’s industrial competitiveness.
Dr. Jinapor noted that sustained engagement with industry stakeholders is essential to ensuring that reforms within the energy sector respond to the needs of businesses while supporting productivity, investment and job creation.
He stressed that building a resilient and efficient energy sector requires stronger public-private partnerships capable of delivering reliable and affordable energy to industry.
According to the Minister, closer cooperation between government and the AGI will play an important role in advancing Ghana’s industrialisation agenda by strengthening energy infrastructure, improving operational efficiency and creating a more enabling environment for businesses.
