The Road 2 Jannah Foundation LBG has donated relief items to Rahma Orphanage Home at Alajo, a suburb of the Ayawaso Central Municipality in the Greater Accra Region, after the facility was severely affected by the June 29 floods.
The heavy rains that hit parts of the country on June 29, 2026, caused widespread flooding, displacing residents, destroying properties and essential items in several communities. Some casualties were reported.
Rahma Orphanage Home was among the affected facilities, losing bedding, clothing, food supplies and learning materials to the floods. The situation left some of the children sleeping on wet floors while struggling to access basic necessities.
In response to the challenge, the Road 2 Jannah Foundation LBG on Sunday, July 12, 2026, presented relief items to the orphanage in an effort to restore the dignity and comfort of the children.
The donation included bags of rice, clothes, toiletries, books, bottled water, school supplies, beverages, detergents and sanitary pads.
Hajia Amarya, who received the items on behalf of the proprietor of Rahma Orphanage Home, Sheikh Yussif, expressed appreciation to the foundation for the support.

She, however, appealed to benevolent individuals and corporate organisations to assist the orphanage with bedding, particularly mattresses, as most of their beds were submerged during the floods.
In an address, the Secretary of Road 2 Jannah Foundation, Elham Moro, said the intervention was organised at short notice following the devastating impact of the floods.

He said the foundation, through the support of its patrons and benevolent donors, was able to respond quickly but acknowledged that more support was needed to expand its interventions.
Mr Moro called on corporate organisations and other partners to support the foundation’s efforts in assisting vulnerable communities.
He also commended President John Dramani Mahama’s flood relief intervention for affected communities but appealed to the government to provide support to non-governmental organisations working on the ground to complement state efforts.

According to him, strengthening such organisations would enable them to continue reaching underserved communities with projects that improve lives.
