The Ghana Education Service (GES) has announced the release of funds for the purchase of perishable items for Senior High School (SHS) and Senior High Technical School (SHTS) students.
In a letter dated July 15, 2026, and addressed to all Regional Directors of Education, the GES said the funds covering the period from March 1 to September 4, 2026, have been transferred to the accounts of the various SHS and SHTS.
The Service directed Regional Directors to notify heads of schools to ensure the funds are properly accounted for.
Heads of Senior High and Senior High Technical Schools have also been reminded to submit official receipts confirming receipt of the funds to the Director-General of the GES through their respective Regional Accountants.
The directive was signed by the Deputy Director-General in charge of Quality Assurance and Improvement, Munawaru Issahaque, on behalf of the Director-General of the Ghana Education Service.
The move is expected to support schools in providing meals and other essential perishable items for SHS 2 and SHS 3 students during the stated period.
