The defence team in the Major Mahama case has rejected the composition of the jury set up to hear the trial of the accused persons.
The accused persons and their lawyers rejected eight out of fourteen people who were presented to be selected to form a seven-member panel to hear the case.
The rejection of the eight, which was within the rights of the accused persons, left a vacant position on the panel.

Background
The late Major Mahama was gruesomely murdered at Denkyira Obuasi, now known as New Obuasi, on suspicion of being an armed robber.
The deceased, an officer of the 5th Infantry Battalion, was said to have been on his daily jogging routine on Monday [May 29, 2017], when some angry youth of the town attacked and lynched him, a video of which went viral and angered the country.
The Police subsequently arrested over fifty suspects who had fled the town to other regions of the country.
Thirty-six of the suspects were however discharged as there was no ample evidence to incriminate them.
Lawyer abandons 7 suspected Maj. Mahama killers
The lawyer for seven of the accused persons at a previous hearing on February 15, 2018, withdrew his services leaving the suspects in a desperate search for legal representation.
The seven formed part of 14 people who have been put before the High Court to be tried for murder.
