The Ghana Beyond Aid committee set up by the government has apologized for using a Kenyan building on the cover page of its strategy document.

The committee said it is ensuring that the cover page of the document is replaced before it is printed in bulk.

The cover page of the document, depicted high-rise buildings over green landscape but the image turned out to be from Kenya capital, Nairobi with one of the buildings in sight being the headquarters of Dawit Insurance in Nairobi.

There has been some level of public disquiet about the move with some online portals in Kenya reporting the apparent error.

The Ghana Beyond Aid committee led by Senior Minister, Yaw Osafo Maafo in a statement on Friday said it had come to its attention that the cover photo of the document emanates from Kenya and thus “the Committee apologises unreservedly to the President and the nation for this error and takes full responsibility for it.”

“We are ensuring that the cover page of the document is replaced before bulk copies are printed for widespread circulation. We regret this error, once again,” the statement said.

The committee’s release, signed by Dr. Eric Yeboah, its secretary, called on the public and all stakeholders to help in its implementation.

“The document will guide our nation towards an irreversible pathway of progress and prosperity, and the Committee encourages all stakeholders to support the implementation of its contents.”

The Ghana Beyond Aid Charter was launched during the 2019 May Day celebration by President Akufo-Addo.
