Parliamentary candidate for the National Democratic Congress for Agona West, Ernestina Ofori Dangbey, has criticised the Member of Parliament for the area Cynthia Mamle Morrison for doing little to change the fortunes of the people of the constituency.

According to her, the MP has failed in the area of road infrastructure, healthcare, and education among others adding that constituents have been denied access to these basic things for a long time.

The Parliamentary candidate said most of the infrastructure within the Agona West constituency was done by the National Democratic Congress under John Dramani Mahama.

“The Member of Parliament for Agona West Cynthia Morrison has failed the people of this constituency. We cannot boast of simple basic amenities. Our road network is bad, for healthcare, the least said the better. Most of what you see in this constituency was done by the National Democratic Congress under John Dramani Mahama. This government says the government is not all about development but I want to tell them that development matters in nation-building,” Ernestina Ofori Dangbey said.

Speaking to Citi News at a gathering of party sympathizers in Agona Swedru where she launched “so mu be” a platform used to sensitize and create awareness of the current happenings within the constituency, the Parliamentary candidate called on party supporters to join the bandwagon and embark on sensitizing constituents on the happenings within the constituency.

“It is obvious that the current happenings within the constituency are not the best. But I know for sure that come 2024 victory will be mine. I will unseat the incumbent MP for the area. All her promises to the constituency have failed and the reason why we are bringing “so mu be” as a means to educate constituents to make informed choices,” Ernestina Dangbey added.

Regional Secretary for the National Democratic Congress Gabriel Nii Commey Adams who was in attendance said the NDC is presenting a formidable candidate who has what it takes to wrestle the seat from the NPP.

“One of the cardinal mistakes we made in 2020 is that we couldn’t unify the party in the constituency but this time things are different since we have a candidate who relates well with the grassroots.

“The NPP MP has done little and it’s a known fact that she will lose the elections in 2023. The history of this constituency is on the side of the NDC and it’s a known fact that anytime an NDC person becomes an MP there is development in Agona West.”
