Management of gold dealership company, Menzgold is considering suing Horizon Royal Diamond, a Dubai based company for damages.

CEO of Menzgold, Nana Appiah Mensah, for the third time emerged victorious in a case in which he was accused of defrauding Horizon Royal.

Nana Appiah Mensah, popularly known as NAM1 in April this year won the first part of the case before a Dubai court which ordered the company to pay Nana Appiah Mensah some $39 million.

The company subsequently appealed the ruling and later went to the Supreme Court when the April ruling was upheld by the court of appeal.

The Supreme Court according to Management of Menzgold Ghana Limited also upheld the rulings of the other courts on Thursday.

In an interview with Citi News, the Head of Communications for Menzgold Limited, Nii Amarh Amartefio said they are considering the option of suing the Dubai company to demand for more money due to the reputation damage their action has caused the Menzgold brand.

“We have the option to go in to collect the $35 million or to sue Horizon Royal Diamonds to demand more money because they have caused us a lot of havoc. They have damaged the image of our CEO and the brand itself. As for the payment of customers, we are determined to do that. We don’t want to put timelines to it.”

Meanwhile, customers of the defunct gold dealership company say this is the break through they’ve been waiting for.

“We the leaders of the various groups, we met him and we will be looking at the data of the customers and whatever program in terms of payment plan, they will discuss at the management level and get back to us as leadership of the customers and we will discuss the payment plan and the way forward,” Frederick Forson who speaks for some of the aggrieved customers said.
