The Ghana Hotels Association has sworn into office its new Eastern Regional Executives to steer the affairs of the association for the next two years.
The major mandate of the newly sworn members will be to coordinate all engagements at the 7 zones in the region, ensure the registration of members, and bargain on fee fixing on behalf of members with stakeholders and their various municipal assemblies.
The new executives will hold frequent meetings with all the 6 zonal members, Koforidua Begoro Suhum and parts of Nsawam Adoagyiri, Akuapen environs, Akosombo environs, Kwahu enclave, Asamankese Akim Oda Kade Boadua Akwatia and the Apedwa-Kibi-Bunso zones and will duly report all their activities to the national executives.
Administering the oath of office during the swearing-in ceremony, the National President of the Ghana Hotels Association Dr. Edward Nyameke Ackah charged the new executives to make the association a force to be reckoned with in the region.
“As part of my duties as the national president, I’m to see to it that elections are held, and the executives are duly sworn in to take off from where the old members left it. I have so much confidence in the new executives who have been elected, and I know they will unite all the members, bring new members on board and work very hard to make the association stand out in the region”.
The newly sworn-in Chairman of the Eastern Regional Branch in an interview with Citi News indicated that the new executives will be innovative.
“We are happy to take over the mantle, and I want to assure everyone that we will come out with innovative strategies to make the association thrive in the region. Already we have started, and we know with the help and collaboration of all the members will we thrive. We have a lot of beautiful hotels and tourist attractions in the Eastern Region, and we will work and bring more innovations on board”.
“I want to suggest to the National council to consider setting up a quality control department to grade and ensure standardization of all facilities. This I believe will help NEC in their valuations of hotels”.
