Relief and Aid International, a nonprofit organization, has initiated a groundbreaking educational scholarship scheme aimed at supporting academically bright yet financially disadvantaged students in their pursuit of higher education across the nation.

With the theme “Bringing hope, empowering tomorrow’s leaders,” the scholarship scheme seeks to bridge the educational accessibility gap between privileged and underprivileged students.

The inaugural beneficiaries include 30 students studying diverse academic disciplines from various regions of the country. Among them are two Accounting students, three Medical Science students, three Political Science students, 18 Nursing students, two Law students, and one student each in Agricultural Science and Marketing.

During the launch of the scholarship scheme on Saturday, April 27, Peggy Anna Naa Ayikailey Adamafio, the Founder of Relief and Aid International, urged students to pursue their education diligently and acquire skills that will enable them to make meaningful contributions to society in the future.

Emphasizing the pivotal role of education in shaping prosperous futures for individuals and communities alike, Mrs. Adamafio underscored the foundation’s commitment to empowering and supporting students in their pursuit of knowledge and academic excellence through the scholarship program.

Mrs. Adamafio expressed her aspiration for the beneficiaries to excel in their academic endeavours and give back to society whenever the opportunity arises. She also outlined plans to enhance the sustainability of the program’s funding by engaging more stakeholders.

“Education is a transformative force that has the power to change lives and create opportunities for a better tomorrow. I am currently funding these expenses alone, but I intend to adopt a more sustainable approach in order not to disrupt the studies of these and other potential students.”

While addressing the audience, Professor Ransford Gyampo, a senior political science lecturer at the University of Ghana, urged private individuals to complement government efforts in the education sector by providing scholarships and financial assistance to needy students, thus easing the burden on the nation.

He stressed the profound impact of financial aid on students’ lives and underscored the importance of government support in enhancing educational accessibility.

The occasion was graced by distinguished guests, including the Gbese Mantse and Adonten of the Ga State, Nii Ayi-Bonte II.

Relief and Aid International is a foundation dedicated to serving the less fortunate and establishing assets that enhance community well-being and environmental health.

The foundation’s mission includes empowering the elderly and their dependents to achieve self-sustainability, as well as providing care for the sick and offering donations.

Throughout its existence, the foundation has supplied clean and potable water to numerous communities and has awarded scholarships to brilliant underprivileged students nationwide.
