Election 2024: NPP has failed, kick them out on December 7 – Haruna Iddrisu

Member of Parliament for Tamale South, Haruna Iddrisu, has urged electorates in the Ashanti Region to vote for John Dramani Mahama, the flagbearer of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), in the December polls for development.

He noted that the governing New Patriotic Party has failed the people of Ashanti, despite it being their stronghold.

Speaking at the campaign launch of the Asawase Member of Parliament,  in the Ashanti region, Iddrisu expressed optimism that the region would vote for the NDC due to the NPP’s poor performance.

He has targeted a little above 35% of the votes in the region, which he believes would secure victory for the NDC.

Mr. Iddrisu highlighted Mahama’s flagship programmes aimed at addressing youth employment, including the “Digi” Entrepreneurs initiative, which would train 300,000 young people in IT skills in collaboration with Microsoft.

He assured the youth that Mahama would provide opportunities for them to secure jobs and contribute meaningfully to the country’s development.

“To the young people, be assured that when Excellency John Dramani Mahama comes, he will work to address the growing unemployment in our country and provide opportunities for young people to have their jobs. One of the major flagship programmes of Excellency John Dramani Mahama to address unemployment will be the introduction of what we call the ‘Digi’ Entrepreneurs.”

“He will train 300,000 Ghanaians, and young people in IT skills in collaboration with Microsoft so that you contribute meaningfully to the development of our country. Those entrepreneurs will be supported with capital. He will call them the Digital Entrepreneurs, in short, the ‘Digi’ Entrepreneurs.”

“You saw the crowd this morning and we are seeing the crowd here. I hear the NPP saying that Ashanti is for NPP. Ashanti is only for NPP if they are performing. And Ashanti is only for NPP if businesses are good. Ashanti is only for NPP if unemployment was low.”

”And therefore, we are optimistic that Asanteman will support John Dramani Mahama and support NDC to win. We need just a little above 35% in the Ashanti region and we declare John Dramani Mahama the winner of the 2024 Presidential and Parliamentary elections. That is our aspiration, and we must work towards that.”
