'Enough is Enough' demo: NDC trying to demonise EC

Richard Ahiagbah, the Communications Director of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), has accused the National Democratic Congress (NDC) of engaging in deliberate political activities aimed at discrediting the Electoral Commission (EC).

This follows the NDC’s concerns over the voter register and nationwide protest against the EC concerning same.

In an interview on Face to Face on Channel One TV, Ahiagbah claimed that the NDC’s actions are intentionally designed to raise political tensions and create negative perceptions about the EC.

Ahiagbah pointed out the inconsistency in the NDC’s stance, noting that the party has previously praised the robustness of the EC’s system.

He questioned the basis of the NDC’s allegations, given their earlier confidence in the EC’s processes.

Ahiagbah dismissed the NDC’s actions as a political exercise aimed at demonising the EC and making it appear unpopular.

“What they are doing they know it is intentional political activity to up the temperature…Of course, all this while they have been going about saying that the NPP is colluding with the EC to rig the election. The same EC they say that their system is robust and that nobody can rig an election, General Asiedu Nketiah said that.

“So if that process is so robust, what are we going to do differently to the same process that is so robust nobody can rig it because the process will unfold in broad daylight for all of us to see it.”

“It is much ado about nothing. It is for them a political exercise to demonise the EC and to make the EC appear unpopular, create the perception for Ghanaians that something untoward is being done,” he stated
