On election day, Odeneho Kwaku Appiah, a former chairman and prominent member of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), cast his vote at Hemang in the Afigya Kwabre South constituency.
Speaking to the media and gathering voters after casting his ballot, Odeneho urged the electorate to stay calm yet vigilant throughout the voting process.
Amid the bustling activity at the polling station, he stressed the importance of peace and cooperation, emphasizing that democracy flourishes in an atmosphere of respect and order. “Voting is a fundamental right,” he stated. “But as we exercise this right, we must remain calm, united, and vigilant to ensure a free, fair, and credible process.”
Afigya Kwabre South, located in the Ashanti Region, is known for its high voter turnout and strong political engagement. Security personnel and election officials were on-site to maintain order and address potential issues. Voters waited patiently in long, orderly queues, demonstrating their commitment to the democratic process.

Odeneho’s message resonated particularly strongly amid reports of heightened political tensions in some areas. He urged the youth to avoid violence or intimidation and called on the Electoral Commission to ensure transparency. “This is a day for all Ghanaians, regardless of political affiliation, to shape the future of our country. Let’s not let division overshadow this crucial process,” he appealed.
