Africa World Airlines (AWA) has reaffirmed its commitment to fostering strong partnerships by honoring its trusted travel agents at the 2024 AWA Trade Partners End of Year Dinner and Awards Night held on Friday, January 24.

The event celebrated the invaluable contributions of AWA’s trusted travel agents to the airline’s growth and business continuity.

Under the Top 3 Non-BSP Accra category, Dodi Travel and Tours emerged as the winner, followed by Signature Travel and Tours in second place and Koffam Travels in third. Meanwhile, in the Top 3 BSP Ghana category, Satsuru Travel clinched the top spot, with Krishna Travels and Euro Tour GH Ltd securing the second and third positions, respectively.

Speaking at the event, Jonathan Kofi Appiah, Head of Commercial at AWA, stressed the strategic importance of partnerships in the aviation industry.

“Collaboration with our trusted travel agents is not merely an alliance, but a cornerstone of our business model,” he said.

He praised the travel agents for their unwavering dedication, adding: “Your expertise, professionalism, and unwavering commitment have enabled us to reach new heights and provide exceptional service to our customers.”

Looking ahead to 2025, Jonathan Kofi Appiah hinted that AWA has ambitious plans to expand its operations.

“We are excited to introduce increased capacity on our ACC-KMS and ACC-LOS routes to enhance our round-trip connectivity, further solidifying our #1 position in the domestic market,” he indicated.

He further added that: “AWA is exploring the possibility of expanding operations to Ouagadougou and resuming two suspended routes along the West Coast of Africa”.

“The first half of 2025 will also see the launch of AWA’s loyalty program, aimed at giving back to loyal passengers and trade partners who have supported the airline over the years. We are AWA because of you,” Appiah remarked.

For his part, the Vice President of the aviation company, Zhang Andy commended the staff of AWA for ensuring better customer services and urged them to offer unforgettable travel experience.

The event was graced by the president of the Ghana Association of Travel and Tour Agents, Frank Annin-Bonsu who encouraged agents to foster strong ties with other key industry players.

“A lasting trade relation should be built on three key pillars: reliability, collaboration and sustainability,” he urged.
