A section of the Electricity Company of Ghana’s (ECG) Achimota Bulk Supply Point Station ‘H’ has been gutted by fire.

According to Citi News sources, the fire started around 11:00 a.m. on Sunday, May 3, after an explosion was heard by people in the compound.
The Earthen Transformer “2” at the supply point has been damaged, along with several other components.

Personnel from the Ghana National Fire Service have since managed to douse the flames.

The incident is expected to affect electricity supply to areas served by the affected bulk supply point, including Adenta, Madina, Legon, 37, Kanda and parts of Achimota.
