As part of efforts to promote staff well-being, strengthen teamwork, and recognise employees’ dedication, the Electricity Company of Ghana (ECG) Akwapem Mampong District Welfare Committee organised a one-day recreational trip to the Safari Eco Valley Resort for management, staff, and their families.
The trip, held on Friday, July 3, 2026, provided an opportunity for staff of the district to unwind after six months of dedicated service while also reviewing the District’s performance during the first half of the year.
The event brought together management and staff of the district in a relaxed atmosphere that encouraged networking, social interaction, and stronger working relationships outside the office environment. The initiative forms part of the District’s commitment to promoting work-life balance and maintaining a motivated workforce capable of delivering quality service to customers.
Speaking at the event, the District Manager, Madam Ellen Agyekum, commended staff for their dedication, professionalism, and commitment to ensuring the District consistently achieves its operational targets and contributes to the overall success of ECG.
She noted that the recreational trip was organised not only to reward staff for their hard work but also to express management’s appreciation for their invaluable contributions to the growth and performance of the District, adding that staff motivation remained a key priority in improving organisational performance.
Madam Agyekum encouraged employees to maintain their dedication and teamwork, assuring them that management would continue to recognise and reward excellence. She also urged staff to prioritise their physical and mental well-being, stressing that a healthy workforce is essential for increased productivity and effective service delivery.
According to her, taking periodic breaks from work helps employees to recharge, improve their mental well-being, and return to work with renewed energy and innovative ideas.
“It is important to occasionally take a break from the demands of work to relax, refresh the mind, and spend quality time with colleagues and family. Such opportunities inspire creativity, innovation, and renewed energy to perform our duties effectively,” she stated.
Staff of the district toured several attractions at the Safari Eco Valley Resort, including the giant anthills, wildlife sanctuary, scenic nature trails, botanical gardens, birdwatching sites, and other eco-tourism attractions.
The outing provided staff with an opportunity to strengthen relationships, interact with colleagues outside the workplace, and spend quality time with their families.
Staff expressed appreciation to the District Management and the Welfare Committee for organising the programme, describing it as refreshing, rewarding, and motivating as they prepare for the second half of the year.
