Majority Leader steps in to resolve A Plus, AG rift

Majority Leader, Mahama Ayariga has stepped in to mediate the escalating tensions between Gomoa Central MP, Kwame Asare Obeng, popularly known as A Plus, and Attorney General Dr. Dominic Ayine.

Speaking in an interview on Citi Prime News on Friday, May 2, Ayariga revealed that he had already scheduled a private meeting with A-Plus and would be reaching out to Dr. Ayine shortly afterward.

“I am actually meeting with them today. I’m in the office and then I’m having a meeting very soon with A-Plus, and I will reach out to the Attorney General. So I will resolve it internally,” Ayariga said.

The Majority Leader’s intervention comes amid a public standoff between the two officials, triggered by a corruption allegation that A Plus has denied, blaming it on a fake Twitter account impersonating him. Dr. Ayine, in response, had called on the MP to clarify his claims and challenged him to produce evidence.

A Plus has since apologized for a strongly worded Facebook post reacting to Dr. Ayine’s press conference, but tensions have remained high.

Ayariga’s move to mediate is seen as a crucial step toward defusing the row, which has drawn widespread attention and raised concerns about political decorum and misinformation on social media.
