The Minister for Trade, Agribusiness and Industry, Elizabeth Ofosu-Adjare, on Monday, July 21, 2025, met the Chamber of Cement Manufacturers, Ghana (COCMAG) on the pricing and standardisation of their products on the Ghanaian market.
On Pricing, the Minister made a passionate appeal to cement producers to allow consumers to benefit from the appreciation of the cedi.
The Minister disclosed that from the beginning of August, inspectors will be deployed from the GSA as part of their quarterly inspections to enforce standardisation of their products, adding that failure on their part to meet the required GSA standards will result in the company’s shutdown.

The COCMAG members in their submission applauded the government for the economic stability, especially the exchange rate and intimated that if the current positive trends continue, Ghanaians will experience a gradual reduction in cement prices.
Representatives at the meeting, including Ghacem, Cimaf, CBI, Dimond, Dangote, Dzata, and Empire Cement, lauded the engagement by the Minister, pledging to work to ensure price reduction in the coming months and adhere to strict standardisation processes.
