The Food and Drugs Authority (FDA) has seized 98 unregistered herbal medicines during market surveillance activities conducted in Accra, specifically at Awoshie and Boundary Road, between November 22 and 24, 2025.
The seized products included Amenazel Herbal Tonic, Amenazel Herbal Bitters, and Poget Herbal Mixture.
Authorities confirmed that the items will be safely disposed of to protect public health.
In a statement on Monday, the FDA warned sellers of unregistered products, emphasising its commitment to ensuring public health and safety.
“We will not relent in our efforts, and sooner than you think, we will get to you,” the agency said.
The seizure is part of ongoing efforts by regulatory authorities to curb the circulation of unverified and potentially harmful herbal products in the market.
