The government, through the Pilgrims Affairs Office of Ghana (PAOG), has confirmed that final arrangements for the 2026 Hajj have been concluded following the signing of key agreements between Ghana and Saudi Arabia during the 2026 Hajj and Umrah Conference in Jeddah.

According to a statement issued by the Minister of Justice, Islamic Affairs, and Waqf, Nawaf Bin Mohamed Al Maawda for PAOG on Monday, November 10, 2025, and Saudi Arabia’s Minister of Hajj and Umrah, Tawfiq bin Fawzan Al Rabiah, officially signed the 1447 Hajj Agreements and Arrangements.

The deal marks a major milestone in preparations for next year’s pilgrimage.

The signing ceremony took place during Minister Al Maawda’s participation in the 5th Edition of the Hajj and Umrah Services Conference and Exhibition, held recently in Jeddah.

The statement said Minister Al Maawda expressed gratitude to the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, and the Crown Prince and Prime Minister, Mohammed bin Salman, for their continued commitment to serving pilgrims from across the world.

The PAOG noted that the Ministry of Hajj and Umrah, in collaboration with the Pilgrims Experience Programme (PEP), continues to prioritise improving the services and experiences of pilgrims through enhanced coordination, digitalization, and stakeholder engagement.

“This year’s conference adopted a modern approach, providing a comprehensive and innovative perspective on documentation, mobility, and accommodation for the upcoming 2026 Hajj pilgrimage,” the statement said.

The PAOG further revealed that over 50 distinguished guests and officials from participating countries took part in more than 10 specialized panel sessions, focusing on best practices and collaborative frameworks for managing Hajj operations.

The Ghanaian delegation described the conference as “a milestone event” that strengthens bilateral cooperation between Ghana and Saudi Arabia in ensuring a smooth and efficient pilgrimage process for Ghanaian Muslims.
