The Chief Executive of the Kumasi Metropolitan Assembly (KMA), Richard Ofori Agyemang, popularly known as King Zuba, has called for the dismissal of Asante Kotoko head coach Karim Zito, expressing dissatisfaction with the team’s performance under his leadership.
Zito, who joined the Porcupine Warriors midway through last season, guided the club to the Ghana FA Cup title, defeating lower-tier side Golden Kicks FC.
However, the team has struggled for consistency in the current Ghana Premier League campaign, winning only one of their last five matches.
Before their 1-0 victory over Dreams FC last Sunday, Kotoko had gone four league games without a win, recording two losses and two draws. After 14 matches this season, the Ghanaian giants sit third on the league table with 24 points.
Speaking to Akoma FM on Tuesday, December 16, 2025, King Zuba said he has seen no significant improvement since Zito’s arrival and urged the club to consider hiring an experienced expatriate coach.
“I have not seen any significant improvement in Asante Kotoko since Karim Zito took over. For me, the club needs a fresh direction, and that should come from an experienced expatriate coach,” he said.
The comments from the Kumasi mayor have sparked discussions among fans, with opinions divided over whether the Porcupine Warriors should part ways with Zito or continue to back the former Dreams FC tactician.
