The Member of Parliament for Asuogyaman and Deputy Minister of Finance, Thomas Nyarko Ampem, has extended an open invitation to domestic and international tourists to experience the cultural and tourism attractions of the Akosombo and Asuogyaman enclave in the Eastern Region this December.
From December 4 to December 21, 2025, he noted that the area will host a range of activities, including street carnivals, pageant shows, and sports events aimed at promoting cultural expression and festive celebration.
Making an urgent statement on the floor of Parliament on Wednesday, December 3, 2025, Mr Nyarko Ampem said the lineup of events was designed to showcase the rich cultural heritage of Asuogyaman while offering memorable experiences for families, visitors, and members of the diaspora returning home for the Christmas season.
He said the celebrations would not only offer entertainment and relaxation but also serve as a strategic platform to market Ghana’s tourism potential to the world.
According to the MP, the scenic landscapes and cultural vibrancy of Akosombo and Asuogyaman make the enclave an ideal destination for family vacations, mentorship programmes, and cultural immersion.
“We are inviting Ghanaians and our brothers and sisters in the diaspora to join us in celebrating the season here in Asuogyaman. It is a time to enjoy, to learn, and to showcase the beauty of Ghana to the world,” he said.
He added that the initiative was expected to boost tourism in the Eastern Region, strengthen community bonds, and further position Ghana as a leading destination for cultural and festive experiences during the Christmas period.
