The New Patriotic Party (NPP) on Saturday, January 31, 2026, held its presidential primaries to select a flagbearer for the 2028 general elections.
Voting generally proceeded smoothly across the country, despite some reported cases of vote buying and isolated incidents.
Five aspirants contested the primaries: former Vice President Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia; former Assin Central MP, Kennedy Agyapong; former Minister for Food and Agriculture, Dr. Bryan Acheampong; former Minister of Education, Dr. Yaw Osei Adutwum; and former NPP General Secretary, Kwabena Agyei Agyepong.
