The Vice President Professor Jane Naana Opoku-Agyemang has departed Ghana to attend the swearing-in ceremony of Guinea’s president-elect, Mamadi Doumbouya, scheduled for Saturday, January 17.
The ceremony will take place at the Stade Général Lansana Conté in Conakry and is expected to attract several heads of state and high-level government officials from across the West African region.
Professor Opoku-Agyemang’s participation underscores Ghana’s commitment to peaceful democratic transitions and the strengthening of diplomatic relations within the West African sub-region.
Mamadi Doumbouya was elected president after securing 86.7 per cent of the vote in the 2025 presidential election, defeating the Democratic Front of Guinea’s candidate, Abdoulaye Yero Baldé and the Liberal Bloc’s flag bearer, Faya Lansana Milimono.
