Core campaigners of former Vice President Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia and former Assin Central Member of Parliament, Kennedy Ohene Agyapong came together in a show of party unity at a special get-together hosted by the 2024 New Patriotic Party (NPP) Parliamentary Candidate for Adentan, Akosua Asaa Manu.
The unity party, held on Saturday, February 7, 2026 at her campaign office in Adjiringanor, brought together grassroots organisers, polling station executives, and campaign volunteers who were actively involved in the recently concluded NPP flagbearer contest.
The event followed the party’s January 31 flagbearer elections, which saw Bawumia emerge victorious.
The gathering formed part of ongoing efforts within Adentan to close ranks after the internal contest and refocus the base towards strengthening the party’s structures ahead of the 2028 general elections.
Participants used the opportunity to engage in frank discussions, renew relationships, and reaffirm their collective commitment to the NPP’s broader electoral goals.
In her brief address, Akosua Manu stressed the importance of unity after internal competitions, noting that the dedication shown by both campaign teams must now be channelled into rebuilding strong party structures.
She urged members to put the contest behind them and focus on grassroots mobilisation and effective community engagement.
“Our internal contests are part of strengthening democracy within the party, but once a leader is chosen, we must close ranks and work together,” she stated. “The unity of purpose we build today will determine our success tomorrow.”
Participants welcomed the initiative, describing it as a timely move to bridge divisions and foster collaboration at the constituency level.
Several activists pledged to work collectively on outreach programmes, membership expansion and political education to revitalise the party’s base.

The event also featured informal networking sessions and strategic discussions on energising supporters across electoral areas.
Many attendees commended Akosua Manu for creating a platform that encouraged open dialogue among members who had previously campaigned on different sides.
With both factions now pledging cooperation, party members expressed optimism that renewed collaboration at the grassroots will strengthen the constituency’s readiness for future electoral contests.
