The Ghana Armed Forces has announced the successful evacuation of three Ghanaian traders who were injured during a terrorist attack in Burkina Faso, according to a statement from the military’s Department of Public Relations.
The incident occurred on Saturday, February 14, 2026, when the traders were caught up in the attack while conducting business in the neighbouring country.
The evacuation operation, which forms part of the government’s coordinated humanitarian and security response to protect Ghanaian nationals abroad, was carried out on Tuesday, February 17, by the Ghana Air Force.
Following the operation, the injured traders were transported back to Ghana and have since been admitted to the 37 Military Hospital for further medical examination and treatment.
The Armed Forces also expressed sympathy to families affected by the attack, offering condolences to those who lost relatives and wishing the injured a swift recovery.
