The Minister for Lands and Natural Resources and Acting Minister for Environment, Science and Technology, Emmanuel Armah-Kofi Buah, has arrived in South Africa to lead Ghana’s delegation to the 2026 Mining Indaba Conference.

According to a statement from the Media Relations Officer at the Lands Ministry, Paa Kwesi Schandorf, Minister Buah arrived on Sunday, February 8, 2026, to represent Ghana at the four-day conference.

During the event, the Minister is expected to participate in high-level dialogues and strategic engagements, addressing key challenges facing the mining sector.

He will also headline the highly anticipated Ghana Day Event on Wednesday, February 11, which aims to showcase the country’s investment potential and strengthen interest in its extractive sector.

As Africa’s leading mining and investment platform, the Mining Indaba brings together governments, global mining companies, investors, and regulators to attract capital, shape policy, and promote responsible and sustainable mineral development across the continent.

Ghana’s participation reflects the vision of President John Dramani Mahama to advance the mining sector through expanded international partnerships and targeted strategic investments.

The official opening ceremony for the conference will take place on Monday, February 9, 2026, signaling the start of a series of high-level policy discussions and engagements.
