The 1st Infantry Battalion has successfully completed a two-week military orientation programme for National Service Personnel (NSPs), culminating in a passing-out ceremony at Michelle Camp on Wednesday, March 25.
The ceremony marked the end of the pilot training exercise, which was designed to equip NSPs with discipline, resilience, and a heightened sense of national responsibility.
The programme, conducted under the supervision of Commanding Officer F. Adams, saw the service personnel undergo intensive drills and structured military routines throughout the two-week period.
At the ceremony, the NSPs showcased impressive drill displays, reflecting the discipline and skills acquired during the training, and earning praise from dignitaries in attendance.
Director-General of the National Service Authority, Ruth Dela Seddoh, who attended as Special Guest of Honour, commended both the trainers and the personnel for the successful execution of the programme.
She urged the NSPs to carry forward the values of discipline, loyalty, and integrity into their service to the nation.
Ms Seddoh also announced plans by the Authority to roll out a nationwide National Military Training Programme between June and July 2026.
The completion of the training by the 1st Battalion Infantry marks a significant milestone in the pilot phase of the initiative, positioning it as a key step toward enhancing discipline and professionalism among National Service Personnel.
