The Kumasi Metropolitan Assembly (KMA), through its Internal Security Task Force, has arrested four individuals for allegedly selling illicit drugs at the Ashtown Post Office.
In a statement released on Monday, March 16, 2026, the Assembly said the suspects, whose identities are being withheld, have been handed over to the Kumasi Central Police Station for further investigations.
Authorities recovered several items during the operation, including quantities of substances suspected to be Indian hemp, a locally manufactured pistol, packs of cigarettes, hard drugs, boxes of “Mashallah” (Ataya), cash, and other materials believed to be harmful.
“The KMA reaffirmed its commitment to maintaining law, order, and public safety, urging residents to assist ongoing efforts by reporting suspicious activities and cooperating with authorities to keep the metropolis safe”, the statement said.
