The Ministry of Education has begun discussions with the Ministry of Finance to facilitate the payment of salaries owed to some newly posted teachers.
The move comes after a series of protests by teachers who claim they have worked for 14 months without receiving their salaries.
Speaking to Citi News on condition of anonymity, officials from the Ghana Education Service (GES) and the Ministry of Education assured that measures are being taken to address the situation.
The Ministry confirmed that it has requested an extension of financial clearance from the Finance Ministry to enable the processing of the outstanding salaries and arrears.
Authorities have called on the affected teachers to remain calm while discussions continue, emphasizing that efforts are underway to ensure prompt payment.
