The Member of Parliament for Mfantseman, Prince Kojo Arhin, has commissioned a new health facility in Dadagua to address the basic healthcare needs of residents across about 13 hard-to-reach communities in the Central Region.
The CHPs compound will provide services to communities including Brofoyedur, Taedo, Toaful, Dwendwenbeadze, Anomansa, Amasamkrom, Daamang, and Mampong, among others. Before the facility’s establishment, residents had to travel to Anomabo, Saltpond, or Mankesim for basic medical care.
Residents highlighted that the poor road network and lack of reliable transport often caused delays during medical emergencies.
Sara Dughan from Dwendwenbeadze noted, “We always struggled to access healthcare. The road is very poor and there are no vehicles stationed in these communities.
”Sometimes we had to wait until morning or rely on motorbikes. Patients often reached health centers already in precarious conditions. But now, with this facility, we have easier access to healthcare.”
The facility, already furnished with medical equipment through support from the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, aims to ease the plight of the locals, particularly pregnant women.
Prince Kojo Arhin pledged that this would be the first of several health interventions across the constituency to improve healthcare coverage.
“This will not be the last. We want to promote universal health coverage, and I will ensure similar facilities are built in other areas,” he said.
