Four rooms on the top floor of a single-storey building in Ntsin, a suburb of Cape Coast, were destroyed by fire in the early hours of Tuesday, March 3.
The blaze, which started around 4 a.m., also caused partial damage to sections of the ground floor. Quick intervention by the Cape Coast Metropolitan Fire Station prevented the complete destruction of the building.
Tragically, one person, identified as Auntie Ama, was injured and taken to Ewim Hospital before firefighters arrived at the scene.

Additional fire crews from the University of Cape Coast Fire Station and the Regional Headquarters (RHQ) were dispatched promptly to assist in extinguishing the fire.

Central Regional Commander, ACFOI Attigah-Mensah, told the media that investigations are ongoing to determine the exact cause of the fire.
He also urged the public to exercise caution and avoid practices that could trigger such incidents.
